Titanium Nitride is a chemical compound of the two elements titanium and nitrogen. This compound is very hard and very resistant to corrosion. Its good gliding characteristics in conjunction with a high surface hardness decreases the wear especially at the forming edge caused by abrasive foils. In addition, it provides protection from difficult fillers which in the packaging industry are deposited between the foil and the forming shoulder. Titanium nitride can be identified by its gold-yellow tone and is thus an attention getter in each bag forming, filling and sealing machine.
